Why haven’t we seen this on Wii? And don’t tell me it’s because the Wii motion sensing is so lacking in precision that it hasn’t been possible to do anything remotely similar to what Sixense showed at CES. That’s not a viable explanation, it only explains the obvious: that Sixense tech is possible of more precision, and detects motion more precisely from every angle; but the Wiimote has had the IR capabilities all the time, and it’s more than enough of a tool to register depth with precision.

So what’s up Nintendo, are you being beaten on your own turf? The Sixense wont be out in another 6 months or so,  so just develop a simple 3D paint app for the WiiWare. In time for the release of the MotionPlus attachment maybe? Then you could take advantage of the slightly more precise controls. Obviously that wont be a great idea–but rather the complete opposite– if the release of the MotionPlus is delayed.
