Crossbeam Studios Attending E4All

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Indie developer, Crossbeam Studios Entertainment, has announced that they will be attending the E4All expo in October. I am hoping that they will show their two work in progress games, Orb and Thorn.

So far all we have had from CSE is concept art among other promises. Though, the concept art does look pretty bad ass.

Here the feed about their October venture and a link to their site.

Greetings to you all,

Over the past two weeks CSE has been very busy with our plans for E for All in October. We have been working with our sister company to finalize plans for the expo. As such our updates to the site have been a bit delayed. To make up for this we are offering you three pieces of art today, enjoy.

Don’t worry, there’s more enticing updates coming, and of course we’ll update this site with our E for All info as soon as we can.

Sincerely,

Your Friends at CSE

Retro Studios Gives Samus A Break

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

So now that Retro Studios has finished with the Metroid Prime series, it seems like that are moving on to bigger and better things. Not the PS3… I said bigger and BETTER things.

Anyways, here is a developer interview from Yahoo. A developer who worked on the game is basically talking about how they built Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and what they were able to do with the Wii hardware.

Last but not least, he talks about Retro taking a break from the Metroid series. This is interesting and will certainly allow us to see if Retro Studios can make another game just as awesome as Prime.

Dragon Quest Swords: TMQ&TTM Trailer

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Here is a preview from GameTrailers. As you can see, Dragon Quest has a very long title. It is actually: Dragon Quest Swords: The Mask Queen and the Tower of Mirrors. I am wondering how they are going to fit all of this on the art box. Maybe add some extra font like the Donkey Kong racing game on the Wii. Anyways, here you go.

Mushroom Men: The Spore War Trailer

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

First off, this game is made for the Wii and the DS. The Wii version has been in production for around four months or so and it is coming along nicely. The DS version looks … ok. Also, the game is being made by Red Fly. An indie developer comprised of veterans from the industry. The game is being published by GameCock who is also publishing another indie dev game called, Renegade Kid. Well, let me stop talking and here is the link for the video.

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. Aug. 30, 2007

THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) today announced Worms: A Space Oddity, the newest iteration of the popular turn-based strategy game, is scheduled for release in spring 2008. Retaining the humor synonymous with the Worms brand, Worms: A Space Oddity marks the franchise debut on the Wii(TM) with a fresh visual style, new environmental settings, intuitive controls and even more customization options. Players will be closer to the action than ever before, launching attacks through a wide range of gesture-based maneuvers only possible with the Wii Remote(TM).

In Worms: A Space Oddity, players will enjoy the ultimate blend of classic Worms game modes and re-invented single-player missions, as well as multiplayer modes that include a host of all-new party games and even more customization options. The game takes advantage of the Wii’s intuitive controls, on-screen hints and the redesigned interface with an in-game help system. Worms: A Space Oddity demonstrates significant visual, technical and design advancement over its predecessors with a new visual style that abandons the traditional drawn approach and replaces it with a distinctive style inspired by classic Sci-Fi looks. The Worms battles take place across six planets, each with its own, unique environments and global events. The online multiplayer experience pits up to four Worms fiends from all over the world against each other.

Worms: A Space Oddity is being developed by Team17 Software Ltd out of West Yorkshire, UK. Along with this title, two additional titles in the Worms series, Worms: Open Warfare 2 for the Nintendo DS(TM) and PSP(R) (PlayStation(R)Portable) system and Worms 2007 for wireless handsets, are scheduled for release this fall.
