Dynasty Warriors® DS: Fighter’s Battle Ships To North American Retailers

KOEI’s Hit Tactical Action Series Debuts on the Nintendo DSTM system

KOEI, recognized worldwide as the premier brand of strategy and action games, announced that Dynasty Warriors® DS: Fighter’s Battle is now available at retailers throughout North America. Featuring all new characters and designs inspired by Japanese anime (animation), this title marks the debut of the hit Tactical Action series on the Nintendo DS.

About Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter’s Battle
It’s time to team up with the legendary Dynasty Warriors and save Ancient China. Rival kingdoms and hordes of rebel soldiers are on the attack. In the Tactical Action game, Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter’s Battle, players must reunite a divided nation, but this is a challenge they will not face alone. History’s mightiest warriors are ready to join the battle. Plus, with the awesome Musou attack players will have the power to stop entire gangs of enemies in one sweeping strike! You won’t want to miss the action for all the tea in China!

In the game, players will take the role of one of three new characters, each with its own special attribute: the Phoenix (key attribute: balance), the Dragon (key attribute: speed), and the Chimera (key attribute: power). Using a “Battle Deck” of cards, players will select up to seven of the original Dynasty Warriors to serve as officers who will defend their bases.

A new “Obstacle Roulette System” lets players unleash tactics or spells using cards from the players’ Battle Deck. These Obstacle attacks can disrupt an opponent’s progress and are crucial to victory, especially in the game’s wireless Vs. mode!

Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter’s Battle is available exclusively for the Nintendo DS. Wireless Vs. mode play is for up to 3 players. This game rated “E10+” (Everyone 10+ - Violence) by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board.

EA Establishes New Operations in Russia

Dedicated Team to Serve Russian Retailers and Consumers, With Focus on Expanding the Market for Interactive Entertainment

Electronic Arts Inc., the world’s leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment, today announced the creation of a new EA entity in Russia. The new office, established to directly serve Russian consumers and retailers, is another step in the company’s growth strategy in Central and Eastern Europe and adds to EA’s global presence in over 40 markets outside of North America.

EA intends to contribute to the rapidly growing market for interactive entertainment in Russia. The Moscow-based team will focus on bringing more localized game offerings to Russian players, more direct engagement with the gaming community and greater collaboration with retail partners.

At an event planned later today in Moscow, EA will host members of the government, industry and media to outline plans for bringing the best and latest innovations in interactive entertainment to Russia. Later this year, two of EA’s most popular franchises among Russian consumers, Need for Speed(TM) and FIFA Football, will launch in fully localized Russian versions for the PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360(TM) video game and entertainment system, adding to the company’s existing portfolio of games localized in Russian for the PC.

“Russia represents a significant opportunity for the games industry,” said Peter Laughton, EA Vice President and General Manager of Central and Eastern Europe. “This is a very dynamic marketplace, with a world class retail environment and consumers who have the intellect and appetite for interactive entertainment. We’re looking forward to bringing tailored offerings to Russian consumers that incorporate local language, music, and celebrities into some of our most popular titles”.

The Russian video game market is estimated at $250 million today, and is expected to more than double in the next three to five years. An increasing number of gaming consoles, PCs and game-enabled mobile phones will encourage the trend, along with compelling games content and a vibrant retail environment.

“EA is dedicated to bringing our unique brand of interactive entertainment to global consumers,” said Jens Uwe Intat, Senior Vice President of European Sales and Distribution for EA. “Our increased focus on Russia is a testament to the vitality of its consumer market, as well as the growing position of video games in the overall entertainment mix. Our goal is to ensure that Russian consumers get the best gaming experiences and an increasingly large selection of interactive entertainment choices”.

Ubisoft and NBC Universal Announce Partnership to Turn Gamers into ‘Heroes(R)’

Ubisoft to Create Video Game Based on Hit TV Series

Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group to develop and publish a video game based on the television drama series “Heroes(R).”

The first season of Tim Kring’s hit TV series has attracted over 14 million viewers each week and is one of the most popular shows among 18-49 year-olds. Time magazine named “Heroes” one of the Top 10 TV shows for 2006, and the phenomenon is now broadcast in more than 30 countries across the globe.

“Heroes” is an epic drama that chronicles the lives of ordinary people across the world who discover they possess extraordinary abilities, such as telepathy, time travel and flight. They will soon come to realize that the fate of the world depends on them, and be forced to team up against someone seeking to eliminate them.

“With a gripping storyline and rich characters, Heroes lends itself naturally to a video game format,” said Christian Salomon, vice president of worldwide licensing at Ubisoft. “By offering people the chance to interact directly with the show’s captivating universe, there is no doubt that the game will appeal to both fans of the series and avid gamers.”

“We are very excited to be making the ‘Heroes’ video game with Ubisoft,” said Tim Kring, executive producer and creator of “Heroes.” “Time and again, Ubisoft has proven they can turn licensed properties into fantastic games.”

Lost my head in the sea of PRs

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Well I got through my list of news dealing with press releases. I will now go back very insanely, like a mad man or evil genius - which I am, through all the media in my news list and I will post it with indescribable glee to the galleries and then to the site so keep your pants on and stay tuned.

However, you might be tuned in for a long time as it may take days, weeks, and even months to accomplish this. It will take quite awhile to update but it cannot be as much time as trying to attack the Death Star in reality or eating ninety five thousand watermelons or trying to search for actual real living Raving Rabbids which live in the forests of Canada. Also, do not think there will not be a Quick Links post later today cause there will be and it will be filled to the brim with game media, mystery links, and a whole hell of a lot of virtual simulated fun.

Yuke’s Announces NEVES For The Nintendo DS

Unique Puzzle Game Coming To The Nintendo DSTM

Yuke’s Company of America, subsidiary of Japanese game publisher Yuke’s Company Limited , today announced NEVES for the Nintendo DSTM, a unique puzzle game that challenges players to think critically as they align pieces and build figures that correspond to a silhouette. Each puzzle features seven wooden blocks, requiring the player to combine them to form specific figures ranging from simple items like a sword or key to more complicated ones such as birds or airplanes.

Targeted towards a more mature audience, NEVES still appeals to anyone who enjoys challenging puzzles. And because of the unique stylus controls of the Nintendo DS, controlling the puzzle pieces in NEVES is a cinch; tilting, flipping, and moving the blocks is as simple as dragging and tapping. But be careful, just because controlling the pieces is easy doesn’t mean the puzzles have to be. With over 500 different puzzles to choose from and four different modes including puzzle mode, count mode, time mode, and versus mode, players will have countless hours of fun solving puzzles of varying difficulty.

“We’re greatly excited to bring NEVES to the Nintendo DS,” said Shane Takahashi, CEO of Yuke’s Company of America. “The game’s modern aesthetic and design should appeal to more discerning gamers while its portability and approachable gameplay should interest almost anyone.”

“NEVES offers simple yet stimulating entertainment, providing a challenging experience for players of all ages,” said Jim Ireton, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Atlus USA. “We are happy to work with Yuke’s Company of America in bringing a classic puzzle game like NEVES to the Nintendo DS.”
