Hey everybody, I have found, or at least think I have found something interesting about GC games being played on a Wii. What is it? You are asking, and you may think that I am crazy, but take a Gamecube game and put it in your Wii. It plays Gamecube games. Heh sorry to joke, but what is not a joke is to actually play Gamecube games on your Wii, and if you take notice, you may see the game looks better than on the Gamecube. In some games, the audio is quite a bit different.

As for graphical enhancements, it is not obvious, but if you pay attention you can see the performance gain has affected the visuals. I noticed it while playing Luigi’s Mansion on the Wii (a really good game that still gets trashed to this day) while watching the introduction video just before you get thrown into the game you can see the graphics are a lot better looking than on the Gamecube, call it what you want, but I can see it. Be it just BECAUSE the Wii has a better processor or better video card is up in the air.

If you pop in Wave Race for Game Cube in the Wii, it pretty much looks the same but is actually a bit darker than when playing it on the Gamecube. In addition, the music in the game is really sped up on the Wii when comparing it to the Game Cube.

Other than this, I have not played any other games for comparison, except RE-make and Rogue Squadron II were messed with. Rogue Squadron II looked as amazing as the first time on the Game Cube, but I did notice that the ships you select were a bit sharper on the Wii. In addition, the teaser video for RS II, which is heavily compressed, looked terrible! As for RE-make, it looks exactly the same. I did find the video at the start of the game looked smoother but there is a pixelization problem, along with it being washed out and having a circular pattern – sorry I do not know how to describe it.

Now is this the ravings of a lunatic mind or is there any truth to this? I would do some video comparisons if my video card were capable of capturing video at all – thanks ATI. uhh… I mean AMD.
